The recent leadership team offsite that you and your staff organized for our group at Shangri-La was a huge success. Your site recommendation, suggested itinerary, local staff and forward planning all made this a very productive meeting. We were able to focus on our business meeting in the very professional and warm environment of the Banyan Tree Tibetan lodge and then achieve our team building objectives with your cultural and nature excursions. The transportation details were arranged perfectly and the advice on high altitude travel spot-on. We will plan to use CHINA LESS TRAVELLED for our future meetings and view you and the team as trusted partners in our business growth plans to better serve China.

Mei was very well informed and offered a great deal of information. She “got it” She understood her clients and went out of her way to adjust to their needs: clean bathrooms, good restaurants, lively conversations, etc. Trip to Xian was worth it; soldiers are amazing. The cooking lesson was creative and a great deal of fun. Availability of special tickets to events was an added bonus. Hotels were very fine and staff was very accommodating.

Beijing was a great start to our China trip. Your enthusiasm alone made this trip wonderful! Every place we visited, both you and Yen provided us with excellent insight. I truly appreciated your western view point on many of the topics we spoke about. Back in the states, I reflected back on our trip trying to understand what you did to make it so special. I realize it was our immediate friendship with you. You and Yen took us around and treated us like family, not like a client. You did an awesome job laying out our itinerary. Everything flowed smoothly from our standpoint. Every sight we visited was genuinely impressive and exciting ... well suited for our family. Kevin, Natalie and I sincerely enjoyed our time with you in Beijing! You provided us with a service that was above and beyond our expectations.

It’s hard to isolate…so much was wonderful. Mei’s energy and knowledge were very important to us. We thoroughly enjoyed the Wall, Heavenly Temple, the terra cotta soldiers, the Egg, the magnitude of Shanghai. Of course HOMA was great; I’m not sure how you replace that experience.

Nic and Mei make a wonderful team and were outstanding guides. Seamless tours (logistics were excellent). Restaurants/Food were superb. Activities were well thought out to match the needs of our family… Local guides added a great deal of insight to the tours. Charlie, Mei and Brian were outstanding and we gained a significant amount of knowledge about the subjects that were discussed. Their personal experiences significantly enriched our understanding of the area and culture. We can’t thank you both enough for an amazing trip. We are so enjoying looking at all the pictures to relive our trip. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you to all of our friends!

The guides were all wonderful and I was impressed by their knowledge and their eagerness to show and share their culture. My favourite guide was definitely Nicolas, in Pingyao. He lived 4 years in France and represents a – rare – perfect blend of European and Chinese culture. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, relaxed and had a great sense of humour. Marguerite in Xian spoke perfect French and was very organized. She had prepared documents to show us on the bus, introducing the sites we were going to visit as well as the use of Chinese characters and the different dynasties. Marie in Hangzhou went to great length to find us a medical massage practitioner who came all the way from the hospital to the Aman. Overall, they all managed to cater to the guest’s different interests and requests -including mine!

It was amazing that you were able to re-arrange the whole China component of our trip with only 24 hours’ notice and only the one charge for the additional flight from Beijing. You even thought to have us go direct from Beijing to Hanoi, which was great. All of the guides were very good. It was interesting to talk to them. They all knew their area, spoke very well and were very accommodating to our requests.
